Moyers speaks truth to power again on PBS

Y'all, "Bill Moyers' Journal" returned to PBS last night with an episode about how the MSM had their head up the Chimperor's butt in the run-up to the Iraq invasion in 2003:

BILL MOYERS:
On his new MSNBC talk show, Phil Donahue discovered just what could happen when you stepped out of line.

[. . . .]

BILL MOYERS: You had Scott Ritter, former weapons inspector. Who was saying that if we invade, it will be a historic blunder--

PHIL DONAHUE: [I] didn't have him alone. He had to be there with someone else who supported the war. In other words, you couldn't have Scott Ritter alone. You could have Richard Perle alone.

BILL MOYERS: You could have the conservatives--

PHIL DONAHUE: You could have the supporters of the President alone. And they would say why this war is important. You couldn't have a dissenter alone. Our producers were instructed to feature two conservatives for every liberal.

BILL MOYERS: You're kidding.

PHIL DONAHUE: No, this is absolutely true.

I highly recommend that you see the rest of "Buying The War," even though it will fucking piss you off. Maybe most of us knew or suspected the worst, but it is a powerful thing to see the case laid out against these lying assholes and their enablers. You can watch it and get more background here, or read the transcript here.

I've seen a couple interviews with Scott Ritter, one recently on "TruthDig", and he is always careful to explain that he is NOT a Democrat. He was always a Republican until recently. Now he may not know what he is. But he's always a truth-teller. Tough job!

I remember being ashamed of the media for swallowing such obvious bullshit, but since I don't get my news from TV* I had no idea how overt the propaganda was. It was like Starship fucking Troopers, man.

Great job by Moyers, but I wish I hadn't watched. By the end of the show you coulda used my spine to ice coffee.

*That's snobbese for "I spent the last six years playing videogames with NPR on in the background."

Shouldn't it be a highly hyped movie for the theaters or sumpin? Perhaps it could pre-emp American Idle just one time.

And what has the "tin foil hat" brigade been telling anyone who listens?

Don't worry, we don't make you actually wear one to join, hahahaha.

Took Bill to ferret it out into the open. Now, it is no longer festering, so feel better about that. Gotta squeeze that infection until it bleeds sometimes, kinda painful, but necessary.

So, we can begin the beginning of recovering from this nightmare, IF we impeach NOW.

Bill, I could listen to him and Joseph talk philosophy for 50 straight hours.

If Joseph were only still alive to put into words this administration's antics.
