Fear! Terra! Fear! We're doomed!
Rethugs, facing an increasingly restive public right before the midterm elections, are not giving up on the fear factor, still harping on aged, harmless dust.

Rep. Peter Hoekstra -- one half of Frothy Retardo's dog-and-pony (or is it man-on-dog?) show -- accused US intelligence chief John Negroponte's office on Thursday of "downplaying the significance" of chemical weapons finds in Iraq. You remember, the degraded ones that "predated 1991" and posed no threat whatsoever.

"I am very disappointed by the inaccurate, incomplete, and occasionally misleading comments made," Hoekstra said in the letter, a copy of which was released by his office.

"Because this call was organized by your office, I assume that you authorized and were familiar with its content. I would appreciate an explanation and correction of these inaccurate and misleading assertions," he told the national intelligence director.

Negroponte's office would not comment except to say that Hoekstra was a mindnumbing douchebag and stupider than a bag of nails.
